SAVANNAH CHEESECAKE COOKIES            PAULA DEEN
CRUST:
1 CUP FLOUR
1/4 CUP PACKED LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
1 CUP CHOPPED PECANS
1 STICK MELTED BUTTER
COMBINE ALL AND PRESS INTO A UNGRESED 9X13 BAKING PAN
BAKE 350 FOR 12-15 MINUTES TILL LIGHTLY BROWNED
FILLING:
2  8 OZ CREAM CHEESE SOFT
1 CUP SUGAR
3 EGGS
1 TSP VANILLA OR ALMOND EXTRACT
BEAT CREAM CHEESE AND SUGAR TILL SMOOTH
ADD EGGS AND EXTRACT AND BEAT WELL
POUR OVER CRUST AND BAKE AT 350 FOR 20 MINUTES
ALLOW TO COOL AND CUT INTO SQUARES
TOP WITH FRESH BERRIES OF CHOICE AND MINT

Mexican Surprise Meatballs
2 slices firm-textured bread, torn into small pieces
1/2 C. milk
2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 C. finely chopped fresh parsley
1/2 t. pepper
Prepared picante sauce
Soak bread in milk. Mix thoroughly beef, eggs, onion, garlic, parsley, bread mixture and pepper. Shape into 1-inch balls, . Place in large baking pan.
Bake in 350° F. for 25 minutes or until done.
Place meatballs in saucepan. Add picante sauce and heat through. Serve with wooden picks.
Makes about 50.

PARTY MEATBALLS
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, divided
2 pounds ground beef
2 cups ketchup
1 cup packed brown sugar
In a large bowl, combine the milk, soup mix and 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. With wet hands, shape into 1-in. balls. Place meatballs on a greased rack in a shallow baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 12 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. Drain on paper towels. Meanwhile, combine the ketchup, brown sugar and remaining Worcestershire sauce in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook and stir until thickened. Reduce heat; add meatballs. Simmer until heated through, about 15 minutes. Yield: about 5 dozen.
