PRINCETON ATTORNEY DISBARRED

THE MISSOURI SUPREME COURT HAS DISBARRED A PRINCETON ATTORNEY AFTER FINDING HER GUILTY OF VIOLATING PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT RULES. ATTORNEY JENNIFER ANN GEORGE WAS ALSO ORDERED TO PAY 2 THOUSAND DOLLARS TO THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE FUND AND COSTS RESULTING FROM THE CASE. ALLEGATIONS FROM A BRIEF FILED WITH THE SUPREME COURT FROM THE CHIEF DISCIPLINARY COUNSEL SHOWED THAT GEORGE VIOLATED RULES OF DILIGENCE, COMMUNICATION, CONFIDENTIALITY, APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS, AND FAILING TO RETURN AN UNEARNED FEE. THE CASE STEMS FROM HOW GEORGE HANDLED A DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE AND CHILD CUSTODY CASE FROM JULY OF 2016. THE BRIEF SAYS SHE PRODUCED A DOCUMENT THAT SHE NEVER PROVIDED TO HER CLIENT. THE DISCIPLINE PANEL ALSO FOUND THAT GEORGE “INTENDED TO DEPRIVE A CLIENT OF HER RIGHTS AND ADEQUATE COUNSEL, AND “DECEIVED HER CLIENT OF HER ACTIONS TO AVOID RESPONSIBILITY”. THE DISCIPLINARY HEARING PANEL FOUND THAT GEORGE SHOWED NO SIGN OF REMORSE OR RECOGNITION THAT HER CONDUCT WAS DISHONEST, AND SHE WAS ALSO DISHONEST IN HER TESTIMONY TO THE DISCIPLINARY COUNSEL. THE BRIEF ALSO MENTIONED PREVIOUS DISCIPLINES REGARDING GEORGE. GEORGE WAS ADMITTED TO THE BAR IN SEPTEMBER OF 2001.
