Bethany Boy Killed, Two Others Seriously Injured In Accident Near Stanberry

A 13-year-old Bethany boy died and two others others were seriously injured following a one vehicle accident Saturday afternoon near Stanberry.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports 46-year-old Dustin Beaty of Bethany was driver a vehicle eastbound on Highway 136, 1 mile west of Stanberry, and went off the side of the roadway and down an embankment. The vehicle went into a field entrance, went airborne, and overturned multiple times.

The accident took place at 3:15pm. The 13-year-old boy died just about an hour and a half later. The driver and 43-year-old Angela Beaty of Bethany had serious injuries. Both were taken to Mosaic in St Joseph.

The Gentry County Sheriff’s Department, the Stanberry Fire Department, and the Grand River Ambulance assisted the Highway Patrol.
