The first freeze warning of the season has been issued by the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill for the listening area.
According to the National Weather Service portions of northwest and north-central Missouri, as well as areas in Kansas and northeast Missouri, are under a freeze warning from midnight Friday until 9 AM Saturday.
With temperatures expected to dip below freezing Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Those with outdoor or tender plants should take steps to protect them or move them indoors if possible.
To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
