Here to Help

Dear Friend,

I’m often asked what I think the most important part of my job is representing the people of North Missouri. Some people seem to think it’s talking about the issues of the day on cable news—it’s not. Others think it’s working across the aisle to get bipartisan bills passed that make things better for American families. That’s closer to the truth, but it still isn’t quite right.

I’ve always believed the most important part about this job is working for you, to do my very best to fix any and every problem you might run into in dealing with a federal agency. That’s because government is supposed to work for you, not the other way around. For some reason, a lot of bureaucrats in Washington seem to have forgotten that.

In 2021, my office helped well over 500 North Missourians with problems they had with federal agencies—from the Veterans Administration (VA) to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This year, we’ve helped hundreds more.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat, whether you share my point of view or curse my name, my staff and I are always ready and willing to help.

Are you having trouble getting the IRS to answer your calls or process your refund? We can help with that.

Are you a veteran having difficulty getting the VA benefits you earned? We can help with that.

Are you needing to get your passport processed faster or get the Social Security benefits you deserve? We can help with that.

I could go on, but the bottom line is this: If you have a problem with a federal agency, no matter how big or small, I’m here to help.

Again, it doesn’t matter if you’re Republican or Democrat, I want you to know that first and foremost my job is to serve you. My office number in Kansas City is (816) 792-3976. If you need help, call. I’ll do everything I can to fight for you.

Sincerely,

Sam Graves
