160 Year Anniversay of Battle of Wilson’s Creek Next Week

The Livingston County Library has announced an event to recognize the anniversary of the historic battle of Wilson’s Creek.

The library’s website says this Civil War battle marked the beginning of the war in Missouri and gave control of the southwestern part of the state to the Confederates. The impacts from this battle linger to this day, evidenced by political and cultural differences north and south of the I-70 line.

Darin Chappell will be giving a free presentation on August 10 at noon in the second-floor courtroom at the Library. You do not have to register to attend.
