35th Annual Poosey Fall Driving Tour Draws 17-Hundred Visitors

The Missouri Department of Conservation’s 35th annual Poosey Fall Driving Tour on October 17 drew visitors in cars, trucks, wagons, carriages, and on horseback to Livingston County.

MDC says a sunny day attracted more than 17-hundred visitors to travel on service roads not usually open to the public.

The tour included stops showcasing forest and woodland management.

Visitors walked about, saw conservation exhibits, and visited with MDC employees.

An MDC employee demonstrated lumber cutting with a portable sawmill.

Oak, walnut, ash, hackberry, and Osage orange logs all became lumber.

Visitors claimed many of the lumber boards for their home projects.
