4 Seriously Injured In Buchanan County Accident

4 were seriously injured just after noon Sunday following a two-vehicle accident in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 17 year old male juvenile driver from Gower was heading southbound on U.S. 169, 4 miles north of Gower, and went across the centerline of the roadway and into the path of an oncoming vehicle. His right front bumper hit the front bumper of the other vehicle. The second vehicle went off the side of the roadway, returned to the road, crossed both lanes of the highway, and eventually went off the side of the roadway again.

The Gower juvenile driver and an 11-year-old boy who was a passenger in the vehicle were seriously hurt in the accident. 40 year old Curtis Falconer of Smithville was driving the other vehicle. He was also seriously hurt. 39 year old Jeremy McAlister of Milan was a passenger in the vehicle and seriously injured.

All were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St Joseph.

The accident took place just after 12:10pm Sunday afternoon.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Highway Patrol.
