Access II Holds Summer Fishing Tournament

Access II Independent Living Center reports $380 was raised at their recent Summer Fishing Tournament held at the Harrison County Lake. Money raised from the 11 teams participating is going to Access II, the non-profit agency that provides services to people with disabilities and the elderly in Northwest Missouri.

The first place winners in the bass division included Gaige and Beau Blanton at 16.63 pounds. Terry Baker and Jeremy Fuston were second with 11.98 pounds. Donnie and Heather Edwards were third with a bass of 11.21 po8unds. The “Big Bass” winning team was Gaige and Beau Blanton at 5.99 pounds.

Access II holds two fishing tournaments a year and proceeds from the tournaments support individual programs Access II offers such a free durable medical equipment, their accessible transportation program, and in the past funds have even been used toward purchasing accessible playground equipment for local schools. Access II is currently constructing a Community Wellness Center in Gallatin, MO that will allow people with physical disabilities and the general public 24-hour access to accessible fitness equipment. Access II provides services to people with disabilities in 8 counties.
