911 Call of Shots Fired at Creston High School Determined to be a ‘Swatting’ Incident

CRESTON, IA – The Creston, Iowa Police Department received a 911 call this morning that shots had been fired at the Creston High School. Officers responded and determined the call was a “swatting” call where a fake call is made to law enforcement to elicit a response.

The incident was treated as active until the all-clear was given. No shots were fired and no students were injured.  Several similar incidents have been reported across the State of Iowa.
