Access II Pushing For Restoration Of Funding

Access II Independent Living Center is urging Governor Parson to increase funding for the providers of Consumer Directed Services. The program is intended to provide independence for eligible individuals with disabilities to control their own personal care and remain independent within their own home. The Medicaid program serves 40,000 Missourians. Access II serves 100 people within the program.

Access II says Governor Parson recommended a funding cut for the program last year and then vetoed a measure that would have restored those cuts and increased funding for the program by 5.29 percent.

Access II is also hoping the community will mobilize with their effort to obtain additional funding.
