Accident in Gentry County Ends with Serious Injuries and Arrest

An accident in Gentry County ended with two serious injuries and one arrest.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the accident at 3:24 pm Tuesday afternoon as a vehicle being driven by 31-year-old Travis J. Vasey of Trenton was heading west on MO-6 Highway near Galt.

The vehicle traveled off the north side of the roadway and the driver overcorrected. Next, the vehicle traveled off the south side of the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned, and struck multiple trees before coming to rest on its top.

Both Vasey and his passenger, 26-year-old Dakota W. Dalton of Humphreys suffered serious injuries. Dalton was taken by ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital.

Vasey was arrested on charges of DWI with alcohol involving serious physical injury and careless and imprudent driving involving an accident. He was released for treatment and transported by Life Flight to Truman Medical Center.
