Additional Charges Filed Against Former South Harrison Substitute Teacher

Additional charges have been filed against a former South Harrison substitute teacher accused of offensive and provocative contact with students.

Fifty-eight year old Gilman City resident Stephen G. Marshall was charged on December 10th with six felony counts of Harassment in the First Degree and ten counts of misdemeanor assault of a special victim.

The Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney filed an Amended Complaint on Monday which brings the total number of charges against Marshall to fifteen felony counts of Harassment and nineteen counts of assault of a special victim.

The dates of the alleged events range from August, 2020 to December, 2021.  

If convicted of the current charges, Marshall will face a maximum sentence of over 60 years in prison and fines of over $160,000.

Daviess County Associate Circuit Court Judge Daren Adkins has been appointed to the case after Judge Jay Hemenway recused himself on his own motion.

The case is set for docket call on January 5th.  Marshall remains incarcerated on a $100,000 cash only bond.
