A federal appeals court on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, will consider whether Missouri can implement a sweeping law aimed at limiting abortions. The law adopted in 2019 would ban abortions at or around the eighth week of pregnancy. It also would prohibit abortions based on a Down syndrome diagnosis. (AP Photo/Jeff Roberson, File)
(MISSOURINET) – Advocates from Planned Parenthood and PROMO Missouri are responding to the emergency state regulation that is designed to stop transgender healthcare for children. It was issued on Monday by Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey. Dr. Colleen McNicholas with Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region says political theatrics have no place in healthcare…
Bailey says the rule clarifies that gender transition interventions are experimental, adding that state law already bans performing experimental procedures unless certain conditions are met.
