Albany’s Board Of Aldermen Approves 2020 Levy

Albany’s Board of Aldermen approved their tax levy for the year during their meeting on Tuesday.

Albany’s 2020 Tax Levy will be the same as last year. The total levy will be $1.80 per hundred dollars of assessed valuation. Of the $1.80 levy, $0.68 will be in the General Fund, $0.63 in the Parks Fund, $0.30 in the Library Fund, and $0.19 will be in the Health Fund. The total assessment for the City of Albany was $17.3 million.

Albany’s council also revised their fiscal year budget for the Road and Bridge fund and the General fund.

The public hearing was part of the close out for the Community Development Block Grant that provided partial financing for the new Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Albany’s next council meeting will be held September 1st.
