Andrew County Wreck Leaves Two Hurt

A one car Andrew County accident late Wednesday left two Amazonia residents with injuries.

The Highway Patrol says 52-year-old Amazonia resident Connie S. Harter was driving a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country southbound on Andrew County Route k near County Road 390 when her vehicle went off the east side of the roadway, became airborne and then struck the ground. The vehicle then continued up an embankment where it hit a utility pole on the driver’s side and came to rest.

Harter suffered moderate injuries and refused treatment at the scene. her passenger, 62-year-old Keith D. Harter, suffered serious injuries and was taken by Andrew County Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.

The Highway Patrol says both individuals were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
