The City of Cameron has announced another household hazardous waste drop-off site will be open this Saturday, August 22.

The drop-off will once again operate from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday and will be located behind the water plant at 1100 West Eighth Street. They ask that you use the Eighth Street entrance.

Items accepted for recycling include batteries, varnishes, cleaners, pesticides, garden sprays, brake fluid, antifreeze, and fluorescent bulbs. outdated agricultural chemicals will also be accepted for proper disposal but no containers over 5 gallons will be accepted.

Items not accepted include latex paint, ammunition, or explosives and motor oil. for additional information about recycling latex paint or motor oil recycling centers call the recycling district office at 816-393-5250.

There is no cost to residents of Andrew, Buchanan, Clinton and DeKalb counties.
