Area Airports to Receive Grant Funding

Several Area airports will receive federal infrastructure grant funds next year. The funds were allocated in a bipartisan infrastructure law passed earlier this year with support from Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.

Grassley said the series of investments into Iowa airports will help Iowa stay connected and competitive for years to come.

The Airport Infrastructure Grants program, established under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, allocates over $24.5 million to Iowa airports of all sizes each year for the next five years. The money can be invested in runway and taxiway projects as well as terminal and airport roadway upgrades.

In Iowa, Atlantic Municipal Airport, Schenck Field in Clarinda, Creston Municipal, Lamoni Municipal, and Shenandoah Municipal will all be awarded $159,000 under the grant.

Missouri airports receiving funding include North Central Missouri Regional in Brookfield ($110,000), Cameron Municipal ($159,000), Chillicothe Municipal ($159,000), Northwest Missouri Regional in Maryville ($110,000), Trenton Municipal ($110,000) and Rosecrans Memorial in St. Joseph ($295,000).
