Area FFA Individuals and Chapters Recognized With Proficiency, Star Farmer, And Special Awards At Convention

The Missouri State FFA Organization recognized the top two individuals with proficiency awards in various areas at the 95th Missouri State FFA Convention.

The area’s first place proficiency winners included Abigail Burns of Gallatin for Ag Research-Animal Systems, Auburn Cole of Milan for Sheep Production, Austen Minnick of Chillicothe for Turf Grass Management, Emily Schreiner of Chillicothe for Grain Production 1, and Kasidy Wilcox of Cameron for Specialty Animal Production. Those placing runner-up included Ashley Chalfant of Gilman City for Diversified Agriculture Production, Daniel Lesher of Tarkio for Vegetable Production, Eli Caton of Mound City for Sheep Production 2, Patrick Mosley of Milan for Proficiency Swine Production, Payton Rodgers of Savannah for Beef Production, Garrett Nyquist of Braymer for Sheep Production 2, Kody Cokerham of Meadville for Agricultural Sales, Ella Johnson of Chillicothe for Veterinary Science, Chloe Clements of Chillicothe for Small Animal Production and Care, and Carver Crawford of Chillicothe for Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production.

Star Farmer awards went to Lance Wallace of Stanberry and Ashley Chalfant of Gilman City. Weston Redden of the Northwest AVTS and Hadley Jumps of Gallatin were selected for Star Placement awards. Austen Minnick of Chillicothe received a Star Agribusiness Award. Claire Renfro of Maysville was recognized for Star Agriscience.

Jefferson’s FFA was selected for second in the Larry Harper Young Writers Contest. Savannah finished 5th in the Soy Innovation Challenge.

Katie Martin of Winston, James Husz of Maysville, Jeff Ward of Cameron, and Jeremy Palmer of Rock Port received Honorary State Degrees.

Haliey Adwell of Hailey Adwell of Worth County was recognized for the Convention T-Shirt.
