Area Students Return From Washington D.C. Tour

Two area students were among 93 that were part of the 59th annual Missouri Electric Youth Tour of Washington, D.C. held last week.

Katelyn Briggs of Eagleville and Maggie Hickman of Princeton were part of a youth tour that was in-person this year after the tours were virtual tours in the last two years. The 7-day tour is offered to give students exposure to politics, leadership, and community service.

The program is coordinated by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and included over 1,000 Youth Tour delegates from across the country.

The trip included visits with congressional representatives, touring monuments, the Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery, and the International Spy Museum.

Katelyn Briggs attends North Harrison’s school in Eagle
