Attorney General Barr Gives Update on Operation LeGend from KC

US Attorney General Bill Barr traveled to Kansas City Wednesday to highlight a new project between his department and local police – called Operation LeGend. The program is named after a Kansas City child killed when someone shot into his apartment in June.

Barr joined US attorneys from the region and the FBO deputy director. He says the operation has been a success in bringing numerous criminals to face charges.

Operation LeGend has spread to 9 cities now- in 6 weeks.

Kansas City Police Chief Richard Smith says he welcomes the federal help.

LeGend’s Mother, Charron Powell praises the project and urged the community to help in other cases. She thanked the community for helping with the arrest of a suspect in the killing of her 4-year-old son.
