Authorities Say Spickard Man Planned to Kill Amish Children
GRUNDY COUNTY, MO – A Spickard man is charged with multiple felonies after authorities say he confessed to planning to murder Amish children.
A probable cause affidavit issued by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department alleges Amos Slabaugh confessed to attempting to find eleven Amish children to shoot and kill.  Investigators say Slabaugh purchased a .38 special revolver and 56 rounds of ammunition on Monday and then planned to break into an Amish house to murder the children.
The affidavit from the Sheriff’s Office says Slabaugh is a patient at a mental health facility.  He is charged with eleven counts of assault in the first degree and armed criminal action.  Bond has been denied.
