Bethany Man Charged with Kidnapping and Domestic Assault

A Bethany man is incarcerated after an incident on Sunday.

Officers with the Bethany Police Department responded to a domestic assault call on South 15th Street. Upon arrival, an officer says that 37-year old Richard Moad was inside the residence and holding the door so a female occupant could not get out of the house. The officer reported that Moad was combative, causing the officer to deploy his taser.

A probable cause affidavit filed by the officer says Moad had a dispute with a female in the household and that he prevented her from leaving the house. A physical altercation between the two caused some minor injuries to the female according to the report.

Moad was charged with kidnapping, domestic assault, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held in the Harrison County Jail.
