INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Bethany native Eric Foster and his family recently returned from a trip to Tanzania where they hiked to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The highest mountain in Africa is a dormant volcano, reaching close to 5,900 meters above sea level. It was first ascented in 1840.
Foster, who now resides in Indianapolis said his daughter Emma found an article about hiking Kilimanjaro in a catalogue when she was 10 years old. She said her dream was to hike to the top. That dream came true after a year of planning for the family.
The Foster family reached the summit on July 5th.
