Boyd Discusses House Rulemaking To Begin 2023 Session
The Missouri House has approved the rules for the legislative session. The action is taken every year, but 2nd District Representative Mazzie Boyd says there was discussion about rule changes.
One of the rule changes was limiting the amount of bills which could be offered by a member. Boyd offered an amendment to the rules which would have restricted the authority of the House Speaker for removing members off committee assignments. Her amendment was voted down. It would have required to House Speaker to receive the consent of the Floor Leader before taking the action.
Representative Boyd has received assignments for House Committees on Agricultural Policy, the Budget, the Special Committee on Government Accountability, and the Subcommittee on Appropriation-General Administration.
