Breckenridge Man Facing Max of 120 Years in Prison for Child Sexual Abuse

KINGSTON, MO – A Breckenridge man is charged with multiple sex crimes following an investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and the North Central Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center.

Authorities charged 34-year old Damion Micah Bergen with nine counts of child molestation in the third degree and three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, alleged to have taken place over a period of time while the child was 12 to 13 years old.

If convicted on all counts, the maximum punishment is 120 years in prison.

A probable cause statement filed by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office alleges the child revealed information of the abuse during a forensic interview with the North Central Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center.  The Advocacy Center uses trained specialists to gather information from child victims in a developmentally appropriate manner about abuse they may have experienced.

A warrant was issued for Bergen.  The court found that he poses a danger to the victim and did not set bond.
