A Brookfield man is due in court today after allegedly leading authorities on a multi-county chase earlier this month.

Reports say the Linn County prosecuting attorney filed formal charges against 37-year-old Matthew E. Guilford.

Guilford faces five total charges including two charges of resisting arrest, felony assault, armed criminal action, and possession of a controlled substance.

The chase went through Linn, Livingston, Carroll, Lafayette and Saline Counties before Guilford was stopped with the use of spike strips in Marshall, Missouri.

He was taken into custody without incident.
