Brookfield Woman Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter In Drug Overdose Case

A Brookfield woman entered a guilty plea to charges of involuntary manslaughter Thursday in relation to a drug overdose case.

Brookfield resident 46-year-old Daisy Lee Maddox entered the guilty plea to a charge of 1st degree involuntary manslaughter. By pleading guilty an additional charge of delivery of a controlled substance was dropped.

Sentencing for Maddox has been set for December 1st.

A co-defendant in the case, 47-year-old Chula resident Brandi Lynn Glosser , was also in court Thursday, entering a not-guilty plea to charges of 1st degree involuntary manslaughter and delivery of a controlled substance. She is due back in court November 3 for a plea or trial setting hearing.

Bond for Glosser has been denied.

Authorities say the overdose victim received illegal narcotics from Glosser and Maddox on March 1. That woman died the next morning.
