Buchanan County Lottery Player wins $100k

A Buchanan County lottery scratchers game plyer recently became $100,000 richer.

That player won a $100,000 top prize on a “50X Lucky” scratchers ticket and claimed his prize at the Missouri Lottery’s Kansas City regional office on August 21.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Lakeside Mini Mart at 5701 southwest Lakefront Lane, in St. Joseph.

It’s the fourth large Scratchers prize won on tickets purchased in St. Joseph this year. Two other players have won $100,000 prizes and one other took home a $50,000 prize.

In fiscal year 2022 players in Buchanan County won more than $26 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.6 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $3.7 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
