Buchanan County Route AC Intersection Improvement Project to Begin This Week

Herzog Contracting Corp., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, is scheduled to begin an intersection improvement project on Thursday, March 7, on Buchanan County Route AC.

This project is a part of the Governor’s Transportation Cost-Share Program and will widen and resurface a portion of Route AC and add turn lanes to and from Messanie Street.

Phase one runs from March 7 to April 10 and will widen southbound Route AC and add a turn lane from southbound Route AC to Messanie Street.

Crews will also widen Messanie Street and add a turn lane to Route AC.

Phase two runs from April 11 to May 14 and involves crews widening northbound Route AC and adding a turn lane from northbound Route AC to Messanie Street.

Crews will also resurface Route AC from Faraon Street to Mitchell Avenue.

During the project, the entrance of Messanie Street to/from Route AC will be closed.

Crews will reduce traffic on Route AC to one lane, with flaggers guiding motorists through the work zone.

All work should take place Monday through Saturday from sunlight to sundown.

A 10-foot width restriction will be in place daily.

MoDOT says crews plan to complete the project by the end of May.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
