Cameron Officers Talk Suicidal Subject Off Bridge
CAMERON, MO – Officers with the Cameron Police Department were able to talk a suicidal subject off a bridge yesterday. Traffic on U.S. 69 Highway and U.S. 36 Highway on the bridge in Cameron was diverted Sunday due to a juvenile female threatening to jump from the bridge.
Officers with the Cameron Police Department responded to the 911 call of the suicidal girl around 3:30 Sunday afternoon. A CIT Officer and negotiator with the Cameron Police spoke with the girl for approximately 50 minutes before she agreed to come down from the bridge. The Cameron Fire Department used an aerial ladder truck to assist her to the ground. She was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
