Cameron Schools Placed Into Brief “Lock and Teach” This Morning

Cameron Schools placed all staff and students in a “lock and teach” situation this morning.

A post on X (Twitter) from Cameron R-1 Schools says the lock and teach went into effect around 9:17 this morning after reports of a student at the high school yelling about an active shooter.

The school district said they did not have an active shooter and are working with police to identify the student.

There were no reported injuries or incidents.

Cameron Police checked the building, and the district lifted the lock and teach a half hour after its start.
