Carroll County Wreck Leaves Two Injured, One Facing Felony Charges

A Carroll County wreck Sunday evening has left a Carrollton woman with injuries and a Carrollton man with serious injuries and felony legal trouble.

Troop A of the Highway Patrol says 26-year-old Brandon Y. McDowell was driving a 2008 Ford on U.S. Highway 65 at County Road 340 at 5:15 Sunday evening when his vehicle traveled into the opposite lane of traffic and collided head-on with a 2011 Chevy being driven by 39-year-old Carrollton resident Mary K. Albert.

McDowell was wearing a seat belt but suffered serious injuries. He was taken by air ambulance to Truman Hospital for treatment. McDowell was arrested on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance – prescription pills, felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and felony unlawful use of a weapon. He was released from custody for medical treatment.

Albert was not wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. She was taken by Carroll County ambulance to Carroll County Hospital for treatment.
