Central Decatur Board Approves Legislative Priorities

Central Decatur School Board members selected their four priorities for the Iowa Association of School Boards to take to the 2022 legislative session during their July meeting.

The goals will include offering a sufficient supplemental state aid, the establishment of community mental health systems that offer preventative and treatment services and school mental health programs, support tools to recruit teachers, and supporting a school foundation formula to meet education goals.

Central Decatur’s board made several purchases. Those included four hundred laptop bags with the school logo for the 7th through 12th grade laptops. Custodial equipment was also approved.

Steve Gilbert was hired as Assistant High School Football Coach, Damon Helgevold as Assistant Junior High School Football Coach, Larry Johnson as Secondary Business Teacher and FBLA.

Bids for bus sales were accepted. Bids were also approved for product and service bids for the upcoming school year.

Adult breakfast prices were increased to $2.25. Adult lunches will be $4.25.

Central Decatur’s Back to School Breakfast will be Friday, August 20th.

Central Decatur’s board will hold a work session and their regular school board meeting on August 26th.
