Central Decatur Board Approves Online Teacher For 7-12th Grade English At August Board Session
Central Decatur School Board members approved a contract for an online teacher for 7th through 12th grade English for the upcoming year during their August meeting on Wednesday. Imagine Learning will provide the online teacher for English. The district has entered the agreement after they did not receive any applicants for the position. Central Decatur is continuing to advertise for the open position.
Central Decatur approved their rental agreement with Leon’s SCIT Theatre for the performance and practices of fall and spring play productions.
A Memorandum of Understanding has also been approved by the district to define how Central Decatur and Head Start will partner to provide the collaborative Little Cards Preschool.
The district approved the plan of sharing IT Director Mark Patience with the Lamoni School District. The board will still have to approve the final draft of the agreement.
Oscar Ortiz was approved as a part-time Band Teacher.
The agreement between the City of Leon and the district for a School Resource Officer for the 2023-24 school year is still being developed. It will be reviewed at the September meeting.
Board members reviewed the Revenue Purpose Statement and discussed the next steps in the strategic facilities planning process.
District substitute teacher pay was increased from $125 to $150 per day.
Board members received an update on their HVAC project. They also approved the purchase of two 77-passenger used buses that have been turned in following leases.
Central Decatur’s first day of school will be next Wednesday.
