Central Decatur Board Holds Post PPEL Vote Direction

Central Decatur school board members reviewed the official results of the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy election held earlier this month during their regular September session. The measure did not pass and the next steps and considerations were also discussed.

Central Decatur board members discussed some district facility projects that included the purchase of an indoor shade system for the greenhouse.

The board discussed options with a mower that’s been donated by the Farmers Bank, but took no action. The girls locker room and laundry room roof was also reviewed. That project is expected to be completed next month.

Central Decatur’s board approved the hiring of Annalise Minnick as an assistant drama sponsor. They also approved creating a new work-based learning HSAP coordinator position. They also began a discussion about whether to offer an early retirement option this year.

The school district plans to request bids for snow removal for the upcoming season.

Central Decatur will have a joint Board of Education meeting with Lamoni on Monday October 21st.
