Central Decatur Board Plans For New Director Appointment July 19th

Central Decatur School Board members held a special session Wednesday.

Board members discussed the three candidates who have shown interest in serving the remaining Director District 3 position previously held by Cayle Buckingham. An additional candidate has since shown interest in serving in the position. The position will be one appointed by the board. The board will submit a ballot. Those ballots will be read at the July 19th meeting of the Central Decatur School Board. The Director selected will join the board at that time.

Central Decatur’s board also approved a 3.4 percent total package salary increase for Supervisor/Directors, the Elementary Principal, and the Superintendent. Secondary Principal Dan Johnson received an increase commensurate at the current building administrative rate.

The Estes Construction Memorandum of Understanding is being reviewed by the school’s attorney. It is expected to be ready for approval at the July 19th meeting.

Matt Colston was hired as a Secondary English Teacher beginning with the 2022-23 school year. Donald Wells Jr has been named as an Assistant Junior High Football Coach.
