Central Decatur Student Selected as Candidate for U.S. Presidential Scholar

LEON, IA – A Central Decatur student is one of the few Iowa students chosen for a prestigious award through the Iowa Department of Education.

Grant Boyd was selected as one of sixty-seven students named as a candidate for the U.S. Presidential Scholar in Career and Technical Education. The program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative and performing arts as well as career and technical education fields.

Each year, up to 161 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.

Kyle Stafford from Creston joins Boyd as a Candidate for U.S. Presidential Scholar.

Semifinalists will be announced in mid-April and scholars will be announced in early May.
