Chain Reaction Crash on I-29 in Buchanan County Injures Three

BUCHANAN COUNTY, MO – A chain-reaction crash on I-29 on Saturday included four vehicles and sent three people to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway, the crash took place at 12:18 pm in the southbound lane of I-29 at mile marker 50. Vehicles were slowed due to a work zone.  Forty-seven-year-old Roy E. Allison, Jr. of Beatrice, Nebraska failed to stop for the traffic congestion and struck the rear of a vehicle operated by 20-year-old Blake Ommen of Parkville, Missouri.  All four vehicles were totaled.

Allison and his passenger, 22-year-old Austin Beck of Beatrice, Nebraska, as well as Ommen were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
