Changes To MO’s Welfare Assistance Programs Become Law Today

(MissouriNet) Changes to Missouri’s welfare assistance programs become law today (Monday).

Arnold Republican Senator Mary Elizabeth Coleman sponsored the changes that will move to a one-page form to apply and renew for these government benefits.

She says another part in the bill will gradually reduce these benefits as a participant’s salary increases.

Coleman says the bill is “a massive leap forward in reforming the welfare system to make sure that people are given a pathway out of poverty rather than incentivizing them to stay in it.”
