Charges Filed Against Sex Offender Said to Be Living at Harrison County Conservation Area

BETHANY, MO – Harrison County authorities have filed charges against an individual whom they say failed to register as a sex offender while she was living at the Grand Trace Conservation Area.

An affidavit issued by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office alleges contact was made last week with 52-year-old Cynthia Hayes at Grand Trace Conservation Area where she was living in a camper. In July, Hayes registered with a Martinsville address. Sheriff Trevor Place says Hayes had said she was living in Nodaway County, however, he said she had not registered in that county either.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry, Hayes’ original conviction was in 2016 in Nodaway County.

A warrant was issued for her arrest with bond set at $10,000.
