Charges Removed in Hearing for Marceline Man Accused of Child Molestation.

In a preliminary hearing, 11 charges of child molestation will not be bound over for Marceline man.

Early this month, 44-year-old Roger Cupp was allowed to wear a GPS device to visit his dying mother in the hospital. He was required to remain with family members and away from anyone under the age of 18.

A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday, and after hearing the evidence found that there is probable cause to believe that the 32 felony charges which include statutory rape and statutory sodomy were committed by Cupp. He is bound over for trial for those charges with an arraignment in Linn County on November 2, 2021.

However, the Court found that there is no probable cause to believe that the 11 felony charges of child molestation were committed by Cupp and he will not be bound over on these charges.
