Chillicothe PD Arrests Resident For Go Fund Me Fraud


A Chillicothe resident was arrested Tuesday on fraud charges after allegedly using a social funding website to raise funds and then using those funds for personal reasons.

According to information released by Chillicothe Police, a 40-year-old Chillicothe resident was arrested in the100 block of Central Street at 9:54 A.M. Tuesday for Fraud or Stealing by “fraudulently opening a go-fund-me account on social media, obtaining contributions for a stated purpose and then using the obtained funds for personal gain instead of the stated purpose.”

The individual, who was not identified, was processed and transported to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail to await the filing of formal charges.
