Chillicothe Police Activity on 10/11/21
12:11 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a business alarm in the 500 block of Park Ln. Officers discovered there was no emergency.
6:44 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible parking violation in the area of Sunset Ave. and Webster St. Officers contacted the owner who agreed to move the vehicle.
8:21 a.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 300 block of S. Washington St.
8:59 a.m., a citizen called the Police Department with questions about a possible sex offense. Officers spoke with the citizen and no report was filed at that time.
9:22 a.m., Officers were out at the courthouse for court duties.
9:37 a.m., Officers assisted animal control in the 400 block of Vine St.
9:47 a.m., a citizen called the Police Department with information about a reported offense. Officers spoke with the citizen and took the information for the investigation.
10:02 a.m., a citizen called the Police Department with questions about possible fraud. Officers spoke with the citizen and no report was filed at that time.
10:17 a.m., a citizen called the Police Department with questions about possible child sex offenses. Officers spoke with the citizen and learned the call had nothing to do with child sex offenses but a civil matter. No report was filed at that time.
11:33 a.m., a citizen called the Police Department with information for a reported offense. Officers spoke with the citizen and took the information for the investigation.
11:52 a.m., a citizen called the Police Department with questions about the property they purchased possibly being stolen. Officers spoke with the citizen and informed the citizen the property was not reported stolen.
12:14 p.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 400 block of S. Washington St.
1:30 p.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 1200 block of N. Washington St.
1:56 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ryan Ln. and S. Washington St. K-9 Enoch was utilized during the stop. Officers arrested a 33-year-old male and 26-year-old female for possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child. The male and female were processed at the Police Department and transported to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail and held pending the filing of formal charges.
2:11 p.m., Officers assisted a stranded motorist on U.S. 36 Hwy. near U.S. 65 Hwy.
3:52 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a dog running at large in the 1500 block of Walnut St. Offices were advised the dog was running with or chasing the cross-country runners. Officers located and captured the dog. It was taken to the animal shelter. Animal control had been notified but was unavailable.
4:30 p.m., Officers conducted a prisoner transport.
4:47 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a male creating a disturbance by yelling in the 500 block of S. Washington St. Officers located and contacted the male who stated he was not yelling at anyone. Officers resolved the incident and no report was filed at that time.
4:58 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a suspicious person digging in the dumpster in the 500 block of Jackson St. Officers located and contacted the vagrant, with whom Officers have had numerous contacts. The property owners wanted the vagrant trespassed from the property. Officers informed her to not return to the property. The property owner declined to file a report at that time.
5:36 p.m., a citizen called the Police Department to report possible scam/fraudulent phone calls they received. Officers spoke with the citizen who did not fall prey to the scam.
6:47 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a careless and imprudent driver in the area of St. Louis Ave. and Montgomery St. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
7:52 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 800 block of Elm St. Officers discovered three family members had been in a verbal argument and all three had been bitten by their dog. They were all treated at the hospital. The dog owner was issued a citation for failing to have annual vaccinations. Officers were assisted at the scene by the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services.
8:52 p.m., Officers were dispatched to juveniles possibly damaging a fence at Danner Park. Officers contacted two adult males who were setting up fencing for upcoming softball district games.
11:53 p.m., Officers arrested a 50-year-old male on an active warrant out of Platte County for possession of a controlled substance in the 2700 block of N. Washington St. The male was transported to the Police Department where he posted the required 10% of $5,000.00. He was then released pending a court appearance.
Officers conducted traffic stops, business checks and responded to 74 calls for service on Monday, October 11th, 2021.
