City Of Bethany To Consider Street Cut Policy

Bethany’s Board of Aldermen plan to draft an ordinance regarding street cuts. Bethany Mayor Lance Johns suggested the discussion since the city has no codified policy at their time regarding flowfill. The council will consider the requirement of flowfill, a material used in place of compacted soil, to replace the area where the street cut occured. The ordinance will be drafted for the council’s consideration on at their second June meeting.

Bethany City Administrator Jake Taylor announced that the city has received their refund from ANR for the gas department due to an transportation overcharge. The amount was a little over $81,000.

The Fireworks Display for Independence Day will be Monday evening, July 3rd. The city plans to keep the same contractor. Bethany’s Bill and Liz Hogan Independence Day parade will remain on Tuesday, July 4th.
