Clinton County Pursuit Ends With Arrest at a Liberty Hotel
A pursuit which started in Clinton County on Wednesday ended at a hotel in Liberty.
According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit ensued when a deputy observed a vehicle with stolen plate. The chase continued on Interstate 35 south to Clay County where deputies were able to spike the vehicles tires.
The vehicle went off road into a parking lot where both occupants bailed from the moving vehicle. The vehicle crashed into the hotel.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, one occupant was taken into custody. The driver, Jeremy Perkins of Independence fled on foot into the hotel into a room being cleaned by housekeeping. Officers say Perkins closed the door and proceeded to take a shower while officers took him into custody.
Perkins had an outstanding warrant. He is facing additional charges of receiving stolen property; speed; property damage and resisting arrest.
