Colorado Man Suffers Serious Injuries in Worth County

A Fort Collins, Colorado man suffered serious injuries while being towed in a parachute early Saturday night in Worth County.

Using an ATV and about 110 feet of rope, 21-year-old Cael D. Schmitz of Lebanon was towing 37-year-old Jacob W. Dickinson north across a private grass runway when the rope snapped.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that Dickinson fell from the sky and landed in a hayfield.

The Colorado man was taken by air ambulance to the University Health Truman Medical Center with serious injuries.

Schmitz, who had been driving the ATV, was reportedly uninjured.
