Commodity Groups Provide Testimony During Farm Bill Listening Session at Missouri State Fair
Several commodity and farm group leaders were among the witnesses that provided testimony to House Ag Committee members at Monday’s Farm Bill listening session during the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia. Missouri Cattlemen’s Association president David Dick says the congressmen present picked an ideal day to pay a visit to the fairgrounds.
Dick adds he appreciates that witnesses stayed focused on items they wanted to see addressed in the Farm Bill.
In his comments, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association president David Dick mentioned the need for lawmakers to continue supporting voluntary conservation programs like the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, as well as safety net programs like Livestock Indemnity.
Dick is a former Pettis County Commissioner and until recently served as beef superintendent at the Missouri State Fair.
