Conception Abbey Announces Re-Opening Protocols
Conception Abbey has announced the re-opening of their campus to visitors, guests, and seminarians, but will have some requirements with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing.
Planned guests are being accepted to the Abbey Guest Center and campus visitors. Those wishing to visit the campus, tour, eat a meal, or stay overnight as a guest should call the Abbey Guest Center prior to arrival when instructions will be provided to planned guests.
Those without prior instructions should enter through St Raphael Welcome Center where safety protocols and contact tracing will take place. Everyone will be required to wear masks on campus in public spaces.
Those attending Mass should enter through the west door of St Joseph Hall. Mass protocols that are consistent with the Diocese of Kansas City-St Joseph will be practiced.
Seminarians will arrive in mid-August for the beginning of the fall semester and will remain on campus for the duration of the semester. Large events will be held virtually if possible.
Employees and monks have returned to their on-campus work under new safety protocols to minimize the chances of spreading COVID-19.
The St. John Paul II Recreation Center on campus will remain closed to the public until further notice.
The 2020 Conception Seminary Alumni Reunion and Partnering for Future Priests Fundraising event will be held virtually this year.
