Congressman Graves Named 2021 NOSORH Legislator of the Year
HANNIBAL, MO – U.S. Representative Sam Graves of Tarkio has received the 2021 NOSORH Legislator of the Year Award from the National Organization of State Office of Rural Health.
Graves was nominated by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and officials presented him with the award Tuesday at Hannibal Regional Healthcare System.
During the presentation, Paula Nickelson commended Graves for his advocacy and support of rural Missouri in keeping health care close to home. Congressman Graves introduced the Save Rural Hospitals Act in 2017. The bipartisan bill reversed falling Medicare reimbursement rates, ended Medicare sequestration cuts for small hospitals in rural communities, funded rural ambulance services and enhanced rural telehealth services.
The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health was established in 1995 to serve as a voice for rural health concerns and promote a healthy rural America.
